About the Solidarity Center
The Solidarity Center is an international organization dedicated to promoting worker rights, fostering safe and equitable workplaces, and empowering communities. This position, contingent on funding, focuses on advancing gender equality, addressing gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH), and supporting women’s empowerment initiatives in Liberia.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and programmatic support to gender equality and women’s empowerment initiatives.
- Develop tools, systems, processes, and approaches to integrate gender across programs.
- Train and mentor stakeholders on GBVH, gender equity, and equality.
- Ensure gender-responsive tracking of program results and indicators.
- Advocate for women’s economic empowerment in the workplace, collaborating with union leaders, government agencies, communities, and civil society organizations.
- Promote gender equity and equality through sustainable systems and strategies.
- Travel to project locations within Liberia to support initiatives.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years).
- Professional Experience:
- At least 5 years working on GBVH, gender equality, and women’s empowerment issues.
- Proven experience establishing systems to promote gender equity and equality.
- Skills:
- Strong writing, facilitation, communication, and leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Additional Experience:
- Familiarity with USG or donor-funded programs.
- Experience mentoring and training others in gender-focused work.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within Liberia to project sites.
