About the Project
The USAID-funded DELTA Activity, implemented by IBI, aims to develop a centralized, web-based platform that serves as a comprehensive repository for data, tools, and resources. The platform will enable users to analyze, visualize, and download data while promoting knowledge sharing and organizational learning.
IBI, an international economic development consulting firm based in the United States, specializes in economic growth, governance, monitoring and evaluation, and institutional performance improvement.
Position Overview
The Senior Web Developer will lead the design, development, and deployment of the knowledge management platform. This short-term consultancy involves developing a scalable and user-friendly platform, integrating data, ensuring security, and training staff to manage it.
Responsibilities
- Platform Development: Create a secure, scalable, high-performance platform, including frontend, backend, and database components.
- Feature Design: Develop user-friendly features like tagging, search algorithms, data categorization, and content management.
- Data Integration: Build APIs for seamless frontend, backend, and external application integration.
- Collaboration Tools: Implement tools for collaborative content creation, editing, and sharing.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure data protection, access control, and user privacy.
- Testing: Conduct thorough code reviews, unit testing, and performance testing.
- Documentation & Training: Provide technical documentation, user manuals, and staff training.
- SEO Optimization: Ensure the platform is easily discoverable via search engines like Google and Bing.
Deliverables
- System Requirement Document: Detailed documentation outlining the platform’s technical requirements.
- Web Application: Fully developed, hosted online, and accessible through a public domain.
- Source Codes & Manuals: Technical documentation, source codes, and user manuals.
- Timelines: Specific deliverables and deadlines agreed upon with the project lead.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience in web development.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks like Angular or Vue.js).
- Familiarity with XML, REST/SOAP, Postgres, MySQL, or Redis.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience in knowledge management practices and frameworks.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving, ability to meet deadlines, strong documentation and communication skills.
- SEO Knowledge: Ability to optimize websites for search engines.
