Job Description:

Guaranty Trust Bank (Liberia) Limited is seeking a qualified and dedicated Liberian to join our team as an Information Security Officer (ISO). The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding the bank’s information systems and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:




  • User Administration:
    • Manage and update user profiles according to the bank’s access control matrix.
    • Deactivate profiles for users on leave or exiting the bank.
    • Assist in updating the access control matrix with changes in applications.
  • System, Database, and Application Monitoring:
    • Conduct regular assessments of SysAdmin and DBA profiles.
    • Perform risk assessments on network components such as switches and routers.
    • Inspect and assess wireless devices.
    • Analyze firewall threats and intrusion detection systems.
    • Review and ensure secure backup and storage of confidential data.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit monthly reports on database, network components, and backup storage assessments.




  • Escalate unresolved security concerns as per reporting procedures.
  • Document disaster recovery test observations and prepare reports.
  • Maintain and update the IT Risk Register.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Participate in information security awareness programs.
    • Represent the Head of Information Security at IT Steering Committee meetings when needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Professional IT certifications in Cybersecurity or Network Security are highly desirable.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Cybersecurity or Network Security, preferably in the financial sector.
    • Strong knowledge of IT governance, security standards, risk management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO, PCI-DSS).
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong analytical, reporting, and writing abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
    • Proficiency in public speaking and presentations.
    • Openness to feedback and a willingness to adapt to change.
